The objective of this research project is twofold. First, it is to demonstrate that fragments of this law are currently under gestation or even appearing in the international public institutions (UN-ILO-OECD-EU) and also, more unexpectedly, in transnational corporations. Second, these fragments come from bodies and players that have restructured themselves on the world stage (international Trade Union organisations) to respond to the challenges raised by economic globalisation. The research project will therefore concern the standards and the players who are making use of the social responsibility of transnational corporations (in the absence of legal responsibility) to make their contribution to the emergence of a social law of globalisation.
To examine these three research hypotheses, our work will be organised around three directions (themes) :
- First research theme: Implementation of transnational corporate standards and the emergence of a social law of globalisation
- Second research theme: International standards and the emergence of a social law of globalisation
- Third research theme: Social players and the emergence of a social law of globalisation
